Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP)
In response to the growth in the older adult population and the need for a better prepared health care workforce to care for them, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services-Health Resources and Services Administration (DHHS-HRSA) established the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). This program helps develop a health care workforce that maximizes patient and family engagement and improves health outcomes for older adults by integrating geriatrics with primary care.
